Everything, not just the highlights

Side projects link to something you can open and check — including the one I shut down. The engagements below were built for clients and have no public front door, so they are dated, named, and I can put you in touch with someone who was there.

Side projects

PTE Target

Live

A Vietnamese-language PTE practice platform with AI scoring, running on a LAMP stack I host and administer myself, exposed publicly through Cloudflare.

PHPMySQLAI

BNB Fabrics

Live

A full e-commerce platform for an Australian textile retailer — storefront, Stripe and PayPal checkout, inventory with stock thresholds, order management, and a role-based admin for staff.

PHPMySQLStripeOAuth

Humanize AI Writing

In build

Detecting AI-generated text and rewriting it into natural prose — served from a self-hosted LLM rather than a paid API, which is where the interesting engineering constraints are.

LLMSelf-hostedNLP

Calcroo

Live

Australian tax and pay calculators, plus the paperwork utilities that go with them — income tax, HECS, casual penalty rates, salary sacrifice. Every calculation runs in the browser, so nobody's salary is ever transmitted anywhere.

Next.jsClient-side computeTax rules

Client engagements

Infrastructure work for government and corporate clients in Vietnam. Described at the level of the decisions I made — no topology, addressing or device detail, because that part belongs to the client and not on a public page.

Provincial Datacenter & Interprovincial Link

Delivered

Department of Science & Technology, Dong Nai Province · 2003–2010 · IT Technician

The department's core applications had grown up one machine at a time, in a room never designed for them. I worked on the server room that replaced it, the virtualisation layer beneath it, and the offsite link that put the data outside the building that produced it.

City Network & Public-Service Wi-Fi

Delivered

Bien Hoa City People's Committee · 2003–2010 · IT Technician

A network connecting the city People's Committee to its ward offices, with public-service Wi-Fi kept separate from the internal one. Less about the equipment than about deciding what traffic mattered on links that were never generous.
